Now 240 orphan unsheltered children are living as resident of Apala Ghar and taking education. We have 21 acre land with Residential building, Training center, Library, cultural hall, Guest house, residential quarters for staff, Huge Play Ground and Hill with full of green tree are included.
Everyday these children wake up at 5 o’clock, complete their study, exercise, collective song and conducts Shakha of Seva Dal. The timing of school is 10 am to 4 pm. Then they participate in skills trainings of computer, painting, sculpture, music, sewing, weaving, farming & facility of science center is also available. A fund raising activity through a cultural programme ‘Tare Samteche’ is conducted for Apala Ghar.
When the region of Naladurg is in complete darkness, Apala Ghar is sparkled with the brightness of solar lamps. The night studies are done under these solar lamps. Regularly health testing is done. In everyday diet nutritious food is given according to medical criterion. A small dairy is established so that the children can get the milk.
The children above 18 years old and completely unsheltered, Rashtra Seva Dal and Apla Ghar has taken the whole responsibility of them willingly. For this responsibility Apala Ghar Management Committee get the help through 10th Post Fund from broad minded people in various regions of Maharashtra.
15 workers and 24 house mothers from Apala Ghar stay with them and work for taking care of the children. Apala Ghar’s management council and Advising Committee works under the leadership of Rashtra Seva Dal Trust and designators and cooperates actively in the development of the institution. New activities are implemented according to government rules, under the guidance of – women and child welfare committee, The memories of Sadanand Warde, famous actor Nilu Fule, Dr. Veenatai Surana, Pralhad Amrutkar, Prof Shriram Pujari, & G. P. Pradhan are always in heart who loves Apala Ghar children.
